Established in 1976, Shereens Montessori Pre-Primary is a project of a non-profit organisation (IELF) offering good quality Montessori education in a safe, homely environment. We have two Montessori classes - one for children aged 18 months to 3 years; and one for children aged 3 to 6 (including Grade R).
Our school opens at 07h00, and the Montessori programmes runs from 08h00 to 12h30. Parents requiring care after this period can enrol for one of two Aftercare options at an additional cost.
 An annual fee applies to all programmes, and is payable over 10 months, with discounts offered for payments made quarterly, or a year in advance. Discounts are also available to parents who have more than one child at the school. A limited subsidy programme is available to the most deserving families in need, based on proof of income and expenses. This process is on the discretion of the Board of Directors of the IELF. In our quest to offer subsidised rates for all, we depend on the involvement of all families to fundraise for special projects and maintenance.
Meals and snacks are provided at no additional cost. Extra-murals on offer include basic Xhosa (at no additional cost); an introduction to computers (for basic literacy - at no additional cost); Playball and Karate.
 At our school, children are taught to love caring for themselves, to love the environment and to exhibit grace and courtesy. With the help of the Montessori philosophy, we encourage cultural diversity, universal adaptability, individuality, independence, respect for self and each other and freedom of choice with clearly defined guidelines.
